[DCRM-L] Name for type of manuscript

Hello all,


Does anyone know if there is a particular name for a manuscript that tells the history of a country with both drawings and text, aside from "illustrated history." I have a codex that features alternating leaves of plates and text. The plates feature symbolic drawings representing various historical events, and the leaves with text explain those drawings. Let me know if pictures would help!
