[DCRM-L] 510 citation form for record in British Library online catalog

One hates to dispute the institution's own stated preference, but I doubt
whether "Explore the British Library" has, by our standards, a terribly
long future as a name for the catalogue. It's not really a title, just an
invitation (or a command?)--by a bookish analogy, more like the sort of
phrase you'd see on a dust cover. The thing seems to called "primocat", or
perhaps "primocat.bl.uk", or "explore.bl.uk/primo_library", though it
*is* quite
sensibly designated "main catalogue", a more durable and informative term.

But apart from that kind of fluff, what about the 510 subfield c? The
"identifier" field contains the system number, e.g. "016905687" for *Mr.
Webster's second speech on the Sub-Treasury Bill, delivered March 12, 1838*.

http://primocat.bl.uk/F/?func=direct&local_base=PRIMO&doc_number=016905687&format=001&con_lng=eng

Is that what one ought to cite? Then again, was Manon citing the number
from the "DGM" field?

At any rate, it doesn't seem possible to enter such values directly in
Explore the British Library. Is there some sort of durable URL that would
enable precise access to the description referred to by way of the 510? For
online resources, a subfield u seems almost indispensable, assuming that
it's not subject to change in the next database upgrade. That's the
e-equivalent of an entry or page number.
